LIVE PERFORMANCE ARTWORK - Spring 2018 [supprted by Arts Council England]
Carali McCall will run towards the building then seamlessly transition to the vertical; running up the entire 70ft high elevation.
Addressing gravity and the role of the body in art, the work demonstrates and promotes running as an empowering and artistic activity. It explores how public spaces and architecture can be used as a surface to engage with as a material and highlights seminal works that have influenced performance art, such as Trisha Brown’s, Man Walking Down the Side of a Building (1970). It aims to create dialogue and methodological exchange between running cultures, architecture and drawing in the city landscape.
